The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 我对这种隐晦的心理青春的迷茫都没有意见
怎么说呢，有种违和感，可能是搞音乐的还这么乖的这个设定让我感觉很虚脱。但确实是华语青春片里比较优秀的作品了……我先被剧透了再看的，所以有点提不起劲。最后没有明示男生喜欢的是男生，但是整场戏其实都是在一种模糊不清的观感下完成的，只有最后两条线的表白是明确的。而且就真的是很青春的那种青春片，不仅仅是恋爱，里面还有少年的一种洒脱不羁跟经历过一些必经之路后的成长，是可以看见的一种变化，就青春剧本而言结构就很完美。最后那个吻，我觉得是有一种弥补之前落空的还有对不起我不喜欢你的那种补偿心理下去完成的，我看到其实还挺喜欢的，就是连遗憾都是很完美。三年后就没必要了吧哥！
两段无疾而终的爱情，拼凑出一场无可代替的青春。不要担心喜欢的人是否喜欢你，诚实一点，勇敢一点，学会接受，这样才是成长，没有白白浪费感情。对陈正道可以继续保持期待了！
架势是严肃讨论青春和爱情，能力只做到了肤浅和逗比。粉丝打分一般都不看电影质量，而是单纯看偶像的功课多少分，这肯定不准。因为在一部烂片里，一个好演员是不能改变烂的本质的。
在我心中有4.5了。陈正道加五月天，娴熟的台系小清新在厦门似乎是螺丝壳里做道场的手到擒来了，情怀有「拥抱」+「盛夏」，当下有「电音」+「抖音」，狙击得很全面。张子枫一如既往地很棒，但吴磊还更合适，郑宇星要一眼看上去是帅的，但不能毫无瑕疵。音乐品味是有的，就已经赢过很多青春片了。MING被剪得如同神迹般的象征存在。名字略有劝退，但五月天味很浓。即便「爱与不爱，未来都在」的slogan对我们中年人已不再新鲜也并无裨益了，但拦不住它总是动人啊。
我特别喜欢的两个细节：一是数学题里的xyz是你的名字；二是陈正道让张子枫唱了五月天，或许是专门放给另一个世代的观众听的。

国产青春片范本。本来冲着三石弟弟颜值去的，片子没啥期待，结果非常惊艳。没有人工糖精，分手好哭，误会撕逼等做作剧情，完全就是存粹的青春悸动，个人认为毫无爱情成分，而且是非常幽默的演绎，全程大部分都是哈哈哈哈。但某些剧情点非常隐晦，需要细品，品出来就会像白蛇2的结尾一样令你惊讶。两位少年演出了自身年龄段的青春活力，但三石弟弟演技确实没有子枫妹妹那么成熟，还需打磨，少演点古偶剧吧，阳光少年才适合你。

蛮喜欢的，年轻人演的青春片，吴磊人设比张子枫好，但是张子枫形象管理和演技拿捏赢了。
7.1分，当电影院服务员有一个好处就是可以免费带父母去看院线电影。我老父老母看的挺乐呵的，殊不知现实中我要是也像男女主角他们那个德性他们只能掩面哭泣。带手机？早恋？来我的高中，手机一砸，耳光一扇就完事了。前半段拍得极其不真实，这是中国的高三？
「我赠你体温你赠我兴奋」是个泣不成声的笑话
半部格斯·范·桑特电影。从OP开始放轻松，在陈词滥调与总结演讲之间，安插大量对情节发展无益、零散重复的、《我自己的爱达荷》般倾吐秘密的篝火时刻，把雨点般的小心事一点点放大。少男少女的表演状态显然好于其他人，不再采用机关枪式对话刻意制造戏剧台词的日常化，而是学会停顿喘息，3.5。
三星半，最大的不满是陈正道仍然过分痴迷于剧情反转。但这无碍于在戏剧化的铺陈和发展中建立的叙述基底是相对可信的，它太正常了，没有妖魔化任何青春元素，使得它不仅出众，而且珍贵。
回头想，不谈其他维度，男主不喜欢女生的设定，给了全片一个确切的不会终成眷属的结局。一般爱情片无论主动被动，难免留下一个“还有可能”的留白，而像这样明确地杀死爱情，反而加固了电影关于“接受爱而不得”的表达，也让三年后的重逢有了更多成长的意义。

看豆瓣才恍然大悟是盛夏光年是蓝色大门。。。郝蕾演中年人谈恋爱演得真是可爱娇俏同时又能妈里妈气。虽然吴磊肯定是没有张子枫能演，但他怕是流下了在娱乐圈长大成人的真实眼泪。希望年轻人都勇敢真诚一点，那么渣男渣女少一些，浪费自己和他人的时间血泪完全可以拿去追求梦想，如果他们还有梦想的话
我觉得青春片能拍到这种程度已经可以算很张弛有度了，导演自己能拿到龙标表达想法不憋屈，找乐子的观众进去能满意出来，我这种看青春片为了真情实感痛一痛的也能不尴尬的动情。诚实面对自己/勇敢的命题我带有个人感情色彩的被击中了。惊喜在于它一点也不做作，能跳脱出这个怪圈用故事和人物本身来达到共情，在华语青春片中已经可以推倒无数了。总而言之，安息了。
