The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 剧集版满分，剧场版....剧情和镜头切的我不知所措。
两个男孩子挺好看的
光线、衣着、环境都浪漫得恰到好处，
大家演技不错不错，很有临场真实感。
Pearl、Gav和Wesley变化不大，Cairo变好看了，Terrence颜值掉的有点厉害，还有小肚腩了，两男主一个去纽约，一个回老家，看第二季怎么捣鼓
群像叙事+一镜到底，真的让观众感受到了餐厅内外协调的重要性！
这不仅是两个男孩的恋爱故事，更多的是关于爱与尊重。

一镜到底，焦虑愤怒的情绪在餐厅内不断发酵，从后厨到大厅，仿佛绵延的战场。台词和表演都很出色，只是结局十足崩坏，差点意思。
很真实欸 从家庭角度出发 虽然结局并没有在一起 但是给第二部铺垫啦 相信俩孩子！！
题材加一星
最近在读管理学方面的书，这部剧就是活生生的例子，一个有效的组织如何突然崩溃的。
原来一桌难求的高级餐馆的后厨是这么紧张又难熬。有点晃动的长镜头带来极强的沉浸画面感，时而模糊着光晕的画面也还原了餐馆昏暗灯光下的视觉效果，就是一个半小时看下来有点眼晕。😂
刚知道居然有大电影 熬夜看完了 Gav和Cai还有他们的朋友们 在阳光下紧紧拥抱 他俩彼此陪伴 太治愈我了 每次大家毫不犹豫的表达爱 平凡美好又珍贵的感情 包含着爱情友情亲情 全程就算是有虐点的地方我都洋溢着被幸福到的笑容 “baby” 看了这部剧才发现原来这个称呼可以被叫的这么浪漫 太会拍了 拍的太好了 第一季和大电影完全ok的 期待第二季 他们的故事
